The mathematics department of Shiraz University was established in 1962 by offering undergraduate courses, and then later in 1966, it started accepting students in the master's course. In 1989, the mathematics doctoral course was launched in this department. Currently, this department accepts students in various math majors at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. In 2011, the mathematics department initiated Practical Mathematics at the undergraduate level. Master's and PhD courses include Analysis, Algebra and Topology, Geometry, Operations Research, Dynamic systems, and Numerical Analysis. In this department, there are 31 faculty members, including 8 professors, 4 associate professors, and 9 assistant professors. This department is equipped with two workshops and a computer laboratory.
